Coach Dal

I started training in traditional jiu-jitsu in late 2009 as part of a university fitness class in southern Ontario. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to seek out an independent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym. From 2011-2013, I trained 5-6 days a week in a combination of BJJ, judo, and boxing. I was competitive in BJJ and Judo, but a concussion from judo cut my striking career short.

In 2013, I moved back to Calgary, Alberta, and continued to train in BJJ. Unfortunately, due to relocating for work, I trained very sporadically in BJJ from 2015-2018. Instead, I was training and competing in powerlifting during that time.

I began training at BAIRRO in 2018 when I permanently relocated to Edmonton in the same year. You can find me teaching Monday-Thursday mornings.

What to expect from my classes: Get your time’s worth for getting up at 6:00 am. Technique and drilling to sharpen your game, and rolling to test it out.
