Professor James Pugsley is a passionate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and instructor with over 17 years of experience in the art. James received his black belt from highly-respected jiu-jitsu black belt, Rodrigo Munduruca.
As an instructor, James believes that the key to success in jiu-jitsu lies in mastering the basics by building a strong foundation of fundamental skills that can be expanded over time.
James is always looking for ways to improve his own skills and the skills of his students. He believes in maintaining a growth mindset and stays up-to-date on the latest techniques, strategies, and training methods.
Aside from his jiu-jitsu expertise, James has trained and competed in multiple martial arts since 1989. This includes Judo, Karate, and Kickboxing.
James is a dedicated instructor who is committed to helping his students achieve their goals, whether that be competing at a higher level, improving their overall health and fitness, or strengthening their mindset. His teaching style is approachable and supportive, and he focuses on helping his students reach their full potential on and off the mats.
